Partnership Matters

by Laura Boodram

At FatTail we’re continuously advancing and evolving the AdBook+ platform to support the ever changing revenue management needs of the publisher community.  We believe that change is good – and we’re really good at it.  We have to be because in the advertising industry the one constant is change.  One of the most recent “who moved my cheese” moments was the announcement by Google that they were withdrawing from the OMS space and deprecating their DSM/XSM solution.   FatTail CEO Doug Huntington spoke about the hidden benefit of this move to the community and advised that affected publishers don’t wait too long to figure out what life looks like after DSM.  Many publishers have used the time available to their advantage and are already working on upgrading their OMS solution and migrating to AdBook+.  An even larger number have not yet taken action which is alarming. While there are options, not all vendors are equipped to handle the “gold rush” movement that will be a race to cut over to a new system before summer of 2019.

The strength of your OMS provider can be assessed in many ways – superficially you might start with the obvious questions:  What does the UI look like?  Does the software have all the right order management capabilities that I need?  Does it integrate with the other systems that we use?  Of equal importance are all the partnership factors; one of which is WHO do they partner with?  “They” say that the company you keep is a good indication of character and FatTail has created partnerships with some of the industry’s leading consulting and advertising management providers.  We have launched a reseller program where partners such as OAO andYourBow (previously resellers of DSM/DFP) can offer AdBook+ directly to their clients.

We have also created a “Certified Partner Program” where advertising consulting firms are trained to support system design and configuration of AdBook+ on behalf of new clients.  All of this means that we are well positioned to grow our community of clients and users without constraint.
